February—Crazy Quilts:
The Pride of Victorian Womanhood
Join us on Tuesday, February 14 as we welcome the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum for their program about Victorian Crazy Quilts.
Victorian women liked to show off, and they did that by making crazy quilts. Unlike the previous generation of women, who made quilts for warmth and necessity, Victorian ladies made quilts that only had to be beautiful. As women of leisure, they had time to study art and fancy needlework, and they used this new quilt style to demonstrate those skills. They also used their quilts to tell secrets!
Come and learn about the symbolism and the language of flowers.

March—Melody Randol
Come and experience "The Magic of Color" on Tuesday, March 13 as we welcome Melody Randol.
Color is often the most exciting component of a quilt, yet it can also be the most intimidating part of planning. We'll take an in-depth look at color: what works and why, the messages colors convey, and ways to make color sing in your quilts. A greater understanding of color and design will enable you to move from making good quilts to making spectacular ones!
Melody will also host a workshop for us on Saturday, March 17 called "Fashioning Fabric: Make it Your Own". Visit our Classes and Workshops page for more information.

April—Peggy Gelbrich
Peggy Gelbrich will be our guest on Tuesday, April 10. Peggy is a prize-winning quilter, teacher and author who has been quilting for over 30 years and helping her students catch "the quilting bug". Peggy loves all types of quilting but traditional quilts are her favorite. Her preferred stitching methods are machine piecing, hand quilting, needle-turn applique and crazy quilting. Peggy is especially interested in ways to make difficult patterns easier.
Peggy will present "Life Through Quilts", a trunk show of her quilts along with the stories of life happening around them. From her first hand-quilted quilt with those big "double-thread" stitches to her award winning applique quilts, this is a humorous and heart-warming look at how quilting plays a big part in our lives.
